TULSA -- The White House announced Friday that Oklahoma Republican congressman Jim Bridenstine has been nominated to become the next administrator for NASA.
Bridenstine currently serves on the Science, Space and Technology Committee and is the executive director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium.
Bridenstine's background also includes a Naval aviation career in which he flew in combat missions.
Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe tweeted that he is pleased regarding the nomination.
Inhofe sent out the following tweet:
