The premium outdoor golf and entertainment venue, FlyingTee, launched their grand opening on June 7 and owners hope to attract new business within the Jenks area.
Located near the Riverwalk Crossing, the more than 50,000 square foot facility officially broke ground in January 2015 and the company's first Tulsa area project is finally open for business.
Co-founder and CEO, John Vollbrecht, says although the project took longer than expected, he is excited to turn the dream into a reality.
“Making sure we have everything right, from a strategic standpoint, from a logistics standpoint and bringing it all together takes a lot of time. You have to have a lot of good teammates, a lot of good partners willing to support you through rough times and good times and that's what we've had,” Vollbrecht said.
The facility features 60 golf bays, three restaurants and never before used golf technology aiming to attract everyone, not only golf enthusiasts.
FlyingTee will also add more than 270 jobs in efforts to help the recovering economy near the Riverwalk that saw multiple businesses recently close.
John Vollbrecht, along with managing partners Ryan Tawwater and brother James Vollbrecht are all from Oklahoma and John says giving back to his home state played a major role when deciding where to open the first location.
“We believe we're a great support for the local economy. Again, being from Oklahoma, all of us. Most of our partners, our contractors. I mean you kind of go down the line we wanted to spread that wealth locally and build up Oklahoma and establish an Oklahoma based company that will hopefully obviously grow,” John Vollbrecht said.
