Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents say the service dog of a man whose body was found dumped and set on fire in rural Payne County on Wednesday morning has been found dead.
Witnesses said Michael Hamilton was struck in the head with a baseball bat and left for dead inside a Stillwater home while the dog was nearby.
Agents said that after the killers dumped Hamilton's body, they drove to either rural Kay County or rural Noble County and dumped the dog. Agents searched for the dog, but found that the dog was shot and killed.
Investigators were hoping to reunite the victim's dog with his family.
