TULSA, Okla. — Green Country and KJRH raised $11,673 to purchase 2,334 books for Tulsa students as part of the annual If You Give a Child a Book campaign.
Friday, those books are being distributed to students in Tulsa. KJRH worked with Gaining Ground Literacy as part of this project. Gaining Ground's mission is to develop readers, thinkers and leaders by providing families with literacy experiences and access to high-interest, culturally responsive books.
If you’d like to help Gaining Grounds with their mission for $35 can provide one student from the Tulsa area with summer reading books. Each $35 donation allows a student the opportunity to select 10 new books for their summer reading.
