Hundreds more emergency teacher certifications approved in Oklahoma

School districts are working to fill teaching jobs across the state, despite raises for educators.

In December, the Oklahoma State School Boards Association said nearly 5,000 teachers were needed to match the average student-teacher ratio.

Officials approved more than 800 emergency certifications for the upcoming school year.
