TULSA, Okla. — In honor of Friday the 13th, hundreds of people waited in line for hours for special deals at Midtown Tattoo Co. in Tulsa.
Owner Jerry Diaz says the event at his tattoo shop had a ridiculously huge turnout.
“Over 200 people showed up and we decided to cut it off at that point,” Diaz said. “That was at 11:30 a.m., just an hour and a half after opening doors. There were people camped out front of our shop as early as 5 a.m.”
Diaz says the line wrapped around the side and back of the shop, including all the way around the veterinary clinic next door.
After receiving complaints from other business owners, he says the shop had to cut the line off at some point.
“We gave each person a ticket and had to call everyone by the numbers," Diaz explains. “If we hadn’t cut off the event at 11:30 a.m., we would have had well over 500 people in today!”
Midtown Tattoo Co. says most of the tattoos given were $40 with the exception of a few that were $50 and $100.
The shop plans to host another event Saturday from 1 - 8 p.m.
