Human Trafficking Training Measure Approved By Senate, Headed To House

A bill requiring human trafficking training among law enforcement Is headed to the House.

Senate Bill 1569, authored by Sen. Wayne Shaw, R-Grove, requires the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training to provide training resources to local officers.

The training would teach officers to recognize signs of trafficking and understand the effects of trauma.

Shaw says Oklahoma ranks 28th in the nation for human trafficking.
