The rankings are based off elements such as Home and Community Safety, Financial Safety, Road Safety, Workplace Safety and Safety from Natural Disasters.
Unfortunately Oklahoma was given its ranking because of its ranking of 51 with Safety from Natural Disasters. The state also ranked tied with Kansas for 44th for Highest Estimated Losses from Climate Disasters.
Vermont is ranked as the number one in the poll.
