OKLAHOMA CITY (KOCO-TV) — A House committee approved two gun bills Thursday.

One bill would allow visitors at the state Capitol to carry guns, which means lawmakers, retired police and Oklahomans with handgun licenses would be able to carry in the Capitol, according to KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City.

Another bill would protect police who refuse to carry out laws that require them to take away someone's guns, also passed.

Both bills are headed to the House floor for a potential vote.
