OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. – Almost a month after being rescued and several horses are starting to regain weight and become healthier, reports the Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue.

McKenzie Rae was just a little filly when the Equine rescue saved her from what they called worst case of starvation she's ever seen in a yearling.

Now, McKenzie is thriving in her new home, says the rescue.

While she still seems thin, the group posted on Facebook saying that she’s doing well and continuing to improve every day.
