TULSA – A high-speed chase ensued Wednesday morning after police discovered the tag of a vehicle was connected to a missing persons case.
Tulsa police say they ran the Texas tag number of a Dodge Caravan near 3rd and Utica. When the officer attempted to issue a traffic stop, the minivan drove away on I-244.
The chase hit speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour before the driver, Adam Langston, turned around at 161st East Avenue.
Police were forced to turn the chase over to a helicopter when the suspect started to drive too dangerously.
The police helicopter was able to locate the vehicle abandoned near Pine and New Haven. Langston was arrested about a block away from where the car was located.
Tulsa police say Langston was reported missing out of Texas and the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen.
He was checked out by EMS and then taken to jail and booked on possession of a stolen vehicle, trespass and refusal to leave, eluding an officer and not having a drivers' license.
