TULSA - Hertz Global Holdings announced Wednesday that it is planning to close its Tulsa Service Center.
A company spokesperson said they plan to lay off around 80 employees. They went on to say that 100 positions will continue to remain in Tulsa through “alternative working arrangements.”
In a statement sent by the Tulsa Regional Chamber Wednesday, Mike Neal, Chamber president and CEO, said “While we diligently kept in contact and remained hopeful the company would maintain a presence in our community, today’s news doesn't come as a complete surprise.”
Neal went on to say that the chamber is working with Hertz to facilitate training opportunities and work placement assistance.
The Hertz spokesperson also announced that “employees will receive severance payments ranging from four weeks to one year.”
