OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. -- A Henryetta man is dead after state troopers said a car hit him on U.S. 75 Friday evening.
Troopers said Sammie Harmon, 51, was standing on the outside lane of the highway about a mile south of Schulter. They said a southbound driver in a Toyota Prius then hit Harmon.
Paramedics pronounced Harmon dead at the scene from "massive injuries," according to the preliminary report sent out by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
In the report troopers said Harmon is responsible for the wreck since he was standing in the road.
There is no word yet if the driver will face any charges.
