Fighting cancer with food, advice from Cancer Treatment Centers of America during this "National Cancer Survivor Week"

Nutritionists say minimizing body fat is one of the best things you can do to reduce your risk of cancer.

It is also advised to cut out high fat and processed foods.

Sodas can cause inflammation in your body, so instead choose good foods rich in vitamins and minerals with active ingredients that fight cancer.

Jasmine Walker, Clinical Dietitian with CTCA, tells us "Some examples can be your cruciferous vegetables. Some examples can be broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts. All the foods that I tell my patients will make your house stink but they are fantastic for our bodies!"

Walker also recommends eating a rainbow of foods, with deep orange and green hues because they have cancer fighting properties.
