TULSA, Okla. — We continue our celebration of National Cancer Survivor week.

Health News 2 Use partner, Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, is offering advice on the support system survivors need.

In addition to meals, consider helping with transportation or figuring out insurance paperwork. Family support is critical, and survivor support groups help, too.

"So, even outside of a professional realm those people are the ones who give the best advice,” CTCA Mind-body medicine therapist Lacy Richards said. “They've already been through it. They've already had the
surgery and treatments and they can give oftentimes the best trajectory of their path."

CTCA has the Cancer Fighters support group, plus assistance with health care. There’s also Project 31 and Anna’s Belle’s, to name a few.
