TULSA, Okla. -- Jurors took a deep dive into the violent crime scene of the Michael Bever trial on Friday.
The 19-year-old is accused of stabbing six family members, killing five, in July of 2015.
Friday focused on the evidence, but there was no shortage of blood for jurors to witness. A Broken Arrow investigator introduced two red stained knives found at the crime scene, in addition to multiple pieces of ballistic gear in the Bever boys' bedroom.
In total, jurors looked at 50 pieces of evidence. That also included the clothes the defendant was wearing the night of the crime.
The investigator said blood was all over his shirt, shorts and hands. She said his hands were covered in cuts and scratches as well.
The investigator admitted this was a challenging case saying, "you have to cope with the emotions of what you were seeing and still do the job."
Friday morning the prosecution filed a motion to overturn the judge's decision, asking her to allow autopsy photos. She overruled this, saying jurors do not need to see an additional 118 violent photos when there is no doubt as to how the victims died.
Because of the size of the crime scene, the prosecution will continue presenting evidence next week.
