A Grove police officer identified as Steven Stogner was hospitalized after he was forced into a creek during an overnight pursuit.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the chase ended around 11 p.m.

The suspect was identified as 50-year-old Darwin Springer. Springer was taken into custody following the pursuit.

Police say Springer is an unlicensed driver with multiple warrants. Authorities say Springer was exceeding speeds of 100 miles per hour on the wrong side of the road at some points during the chase.

As of right now, it is not certain how the officer was forced into the creek during the pursuit. He was released from the hospital Sunday afternoon with minor injuries.
