Broken Arrow police say they have arrested the second suspect in connection to a BAPD officer being shot over the weekend.

Police say that Hayden Payne was arrested and has been transported to the county jail on complaints of shooting with intent to kill.

On Sunday, Broken Arrow police were dispatched to the area of South Aspen Avenue and West Houston Street.

The original call came in as a disturbance with a firearm at a residence.

The suspect, Hayden Payne, came to the residence and shot at the home owner, Dean Black.

Black retreated inside his house and Payne fled the area.

When a BAPD officer, Cody Stanton, approached the residence and knocked, Black fired shots through the closed door, striking the officer in the arm, police say.

Officer Stanton is still in the hospital and in stable condition. Police say they expect Stanton will make a full recovery.

Dean Black was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon for shooting the officer.
