GRDA: 6-year-old drowns in Illinois River

The Grand River Dam Authority confirms a 6-year-old boy drowned Sunday in the Illinois River.

GRDA says the boy was recovered around 6 p.m. near the Chewey Road Bridge. They say he drowned in 12 feet of water.

No other details about what led up to the drowning have been released.
