The video is just jaw-dropping!
A boat sinking right in the middle of Grand Lake!
Thankfully, six people on board made it to safety last March with the help of first responders and fellow boaters.
That captain is only speaking with 2 Works For You about that day and what advice he has for boaters this holiday weekend.
Jim Forrester has been a lifelong boater on Grand Lake.
He said his boat started to take on water when the stern hit a dock earlier this spring during Welcome Back Weekend.
He said boaters should always have a plan and make sure everyone on the boat knows what to do during an emergency.
“Man it sure pays to know what to do when a situation happens. No one wants to ever experience that. I don't want to experience that because it gives you an empty feeling just watching the craft going down and knowing what could've been," said Forrester.
Remember the Grand River Dam Authority reminds boaters it's required for children to wear life vests under the age of twelve and everyone on a boat should have access to a life jacket.
