Gov. Stitt and First Lady Sarah Stitt moderated a discussion on race with community leaders from Oklahoma on Sunday.

"Uniting Oklahoma: A roundtable discussion about race" air on 2 Works for You and can be watched in the video player above.

Panelist included:

  • Stronger Together founder Clarence Hill
  • Moore Police Chief Todd Gibson
  • Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Marcus Williams
  • Pastor Herbert Cooper from People’s Church OKC

The discussion included topics on personal experiences with racism in Oklahoma, law enforcement and the community's reaction to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and how Oklahomans can be part of the solution.

It has been difficult to see the pain felt by many fellow Oklahomans in these recent demonstrations. It was heavy on my heart to spend time listening and help Oklahomans come together and engage in productive conversations to create a better state for our children and our future.
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt

Oklahoma Capitol Culture, a nonprofit impacting the community through non-political engagement will be hosting the event.
