TULSA, Okla. — An amazing story of kindness -- a woman gave the slippers off her feet as she consoled a woman who had been assaulted.

On Wednesday, the Tulsa Fire Department honored two Good Samaritans -- Maddie Habeck and Conner Anderson -- who stayed with the woman until police and firefighters arrived.

“I just talked to her about my experience having been a domestic violence survivor, and I think she related to that,” Habeck said.

Habeck also offered to get the woman more help and a fresh set of clothes.

Firefighters say they don't know if the woman would have reported the crime if Habeck and Anderson hadn't stayed with her.
