A Tulsa girl getting unwanted attention because of her name is Isis, is getting some encouragement from Facebook users.
Friday, 14-year-old Isis Brown posted a video on Facebook, telling others with the same name to stay strong.
Since then, she's received hundreds of positive comments. A real boost, after months of being bullied.
“The feedback's been really good, I've really enjoyed reading the stuff people have written me,” Brown said.
Brown’s video has reached more than 300,000 people, including some she says bullied her at Nathan Hale Junior High.
“I didn't get called anything today, I had a lot of people come up to me and say they are sorry for ever making fun of me,” Brown said.
Her mother Doris says it's a welcome change.
“She got in the car, said mom today was an awesome day.”
For three years, Isis has dealt with kids calling her a terrorist. The bullying so relentless at her last school, she had to transfer.
But so far her experience at Nathan Hale has been better.
And soon she will be helping other kids as well. Teachers at her school and others have asked her to speak about bullying.
“I've started feeling better about myself and started feeling like I can do more and accomplish more.”
The sky's the limit for Isis, posting another video thanking everyone who's helped her confidence.
“I just want to say thank you,” Brown said. ”I hope it's made your day, just as good as it's made mine.”
