TULSA – A famous painting from the Gilcrease Museum is heading to France.

The French government asked the museum to loan Washington and Lafayette at the Battle of Brandywine as part of a new exhibit on Franco-American relations.

The painting captures an important moment during the American Revolution.

France was a great ally to our fledgling nation during the war. The painting will be on display in Versailles from July through October.
