Figuring out what to do with your batteries, car oil or fluorescent light bulbs when you're done with them can be difficult.
Tulsa residents will now have the option to dispose of these type of items at the new Household Pollutant Collection Facility in west Tulsa.
So far residents have relied on a biannual collection event. This is the first permanent facility in the area.
The facility was created in hopes of lessening the amount of waste that is disposed of in local streams, storm drains and recycling systems.
The costs of the facility are shared between Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority, Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy and the Stormwater Drainage and Hazard Mitigation Advisory Board.
The plant is only open on Wednesday's and Saturday's from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can make an appointment to drop off your things by calling 918-596-2100. The plant only accepts certain items that are listed below.
