Gas prices rise for holiday weekend

TULSA -- The national average is at $2.90 per gallon, and if you think that's bad, back in 2014 it was $3.66 per gallon.

We went around overnight to see what you'll be paying here in the Tulsa metro this weekend. We saw prices from $2.50 to $2.55 per gallon for regular unleaded.

If you're wondering why, oil prices jumped again on Thursday and topped $74 a barrel, the highest since 2014.

A major oil producer in Canada suffered a power outage, disrupting the flow of crude to the United States.

President Trump also stepped up his crackdown on Iran, the world's fifth biggest oil producer.

Tuesday is expected to be the busiest travel day of the next week.
