Bethany Martin joined the Route 66 Marathon this year, but she's not letting her tradition go.
She has a "free hug" t-shirt on and instead of standing on the sidelines, she's in the race giving the hugs to those cheering others on.
Bethany started her movement because she wanted to more than just stand on the sidelines.
She believes her free hugs give a little joy, helping those trying to make it to the finish line.
Martin says as a runner joining the race this year, and keeping up with her tradition wasn't easy, but she says with the support of family and the community it's worth it.
Martin tells us, "some of them don't wanna hug me because they are too sweaty but some of the bigger guys will like pick me all the way up and spin you around. It just shows how supportive the community is."
