Freezing temperatures damage Tulsa Ronald McDonald House; charity asking for donations

Posted

TULSA -- Extreme cold temperatures took their toll on the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa.

Over the weekend, the deep freeze caused a valve in the charity's sprinkler system to burst, flooding the lobby and offices with water.

The Tulsa Fire Department shut the water to the entire building off around 3 in the afternoon Sunday.

The house is a home away from home for families of very sick children going through treatment in Tulsa.

Even though the flooding caused major damage to the facility, the house remains operational.
