A former Tulsa attorney is under arrest and facing embezzlement charges.
Fred Callicoat, 54, is accused of taking money from one of his clients.
Police say the victim gave Callicoat money to file a bankruptcy petition. He allegedly told the client he was handing her case to another attorney, and refused to file her bankruptcy petition unless she paid him a filing fee.
According to police, he never filed the petition and then retired from his law practice.
Police filed a warrant for Callicoat’s arrest last month. It’s one of three warrants officers issued for his arrest.
