DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. -- A former Delaware County Jail detention officer is accused of rape of an inmate.

A warrant was issued Friday for former officer Justin Paquette. Paquette was accused of rape and sexual battery after officials said he had sexual contact with a female inmate.

The assault reportedly took place in July.

Officials said the sexual contact appeared to be consensual, but since the victim is under legal custody of a county agency, the charge was rape.

The charge of sexual battery was made by a male inmate after he learned of the investigation.
