BROKEN ARROW, Okla.-- The 2 Cares for the Community Food 2 Veterans food drive will provide over 2,500 meals to local veterans organizations. The 3rd annual food drive took place at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center May 30, 2018.

Over 1,500 pounds of food was donated plus $310 in monetary donations. The food collected will benefit local veterans’ charities through the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma including BRRX4Vets and The Coffee Bunker.

We are thankful to our partner, Stoney Creek Hotel for their hospitality and especially for providing free, fresh-grilled hamburgers and hot dogs to volunteers and donors the entire day.

"Stoney Creek is dedicated to supporting our community; especially our veterans,” says Jim Thompson, owner of Stoney Creek Hospitality. “We proudly support the sacrifice that these men and women have made to our freedom and we extend our appreciation of their services by joining with our local Oklahoma forces by supplying food to those in need."

You can continue to donate to the Food Bank's veterans outreach programs on line at OKFoodBank.org/donate. Just mark the "Veterans Outreach" designation for your donation.

BRRX4Vets is a rapid re-housing program funded by the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant. BRRX4Vets uses the housing first model to provide temporary intervention and short term assistance to low-income veteran families who are homeless or facing eviction.

The Coffee Bunker offers a wide range of programs, from Arts & Crafts to Fighting Addiction support groups. Each day up to 90 veterans and service members drop by Coffee Bunker to get together, use computers, access Wi-Fi, enjoy games and group activities, watch television or just hang out.
