TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout the evening and into the night in eastern Oklahoma.

Forecasters say strong thunderstorms are possible across the region until 11 p.m. Sunday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts of up to 5 inches are possible.
In addition, a flash flood watch is in effect in eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas through Monday. Thunderstorms are expected to continue across portions of eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas Sunday. This may cause excessive runoff of rainfall and lead to flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas.
The threat of flash floods will diminish early Monday as heavier precipitation moves east of the area and only lingering light showers remain.
