BROKEN ARROW, Okla — Flight Night Space Week gets underway this week.

This annual event connects students at various schools with hands-on STEM activities and events.

Officials say 3,500 students and teachers from across Green Country are expected to participate this week.

Former NASA Astronaut Colonel Paul Lockhart will also talk to students.

It's one of the ten schools he'll visit throughout the week.

The event kicks off today with a huge check presentation at Lynn Wood Elementary School in Broken Arrow.
