Students from Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri are in Tulsa for an Oklahoma Smoke Diver class.
Officials say the class duplicates the extreme demands placed on firefighters with an emphasis on advanced search and rescue thermal imaging, situational awareness and decision making during an emergency.
100 smoke diver instructors from all over are making the course possible.
25 students started the program but only 12 remain. Graduation for those who stick with it will be held Friday.
