WASHINGTON COUNTY – Grass fires snaked through several hundreds of acres this week, charring several spots of rangeland in the area.
The fires erupted about ten minutes outside of Bartlesville late Tuesday, early Wednesday. Emergency management crews say that two fires were burning close to one another.
Four fire departments were called out to extinguish the flames but wind speeds made it difficult to stop the fires from spreading.
Officials say the cause of the fires is still undetermined but the investigation continues.
