Fire rips through East Tulsa apartments

TULSA, Okla. - Four people are displaced after fire rips through several units of an apartment complex in East Tulsa.

Around midnight, firefighters responded to the Astoria Point Apartments near East 31st and South 129th East Ave.

When they arrived, they found flames visible from the first and second floor of a building.

Officials said the fire started in a first floor apartment and spread to the second floor. TFD firefighters stopped the fire from reaching the attic.

There is also damage to the roof, which had to be opened by firefighters to reach hot spots and to ventilate the smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
