The driver of a pick-up truck is dead after hitting a semi-truck head on on U.S. 169.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed that the wreck left the semi overturned just a mile and a half from Talala in Rogers County.

The northbound and southbound lanes were blocked due to the semi. Both directions were reopened around noon, says OHP. Traffic will be diverted to surrounding roads.

OHP says the driver of the pickup truck, Giles Vaughn, 48, was “driving erratically” and the semi carrying lumber tried to avoid hitting it. The driver has not been identified but OHP did confirm the person was believed to be in their late 40s.

"They said he was driving erratically. Everything's under investigation. We don't have any indication right now of seatbelts, speed, anything at all. We don't know who he was. He may've worked all night long, we don't know. He may've been sleepy, we don't know. All of it's under investigation," said OHP Trooper Dwight Durant.

The driver of the semi-truck was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
