Family sues Owasso Public Schools

OWASSO, Okla. - A lawsuit filed against Owasso Public Schools has moved to federal court. 

Trena Marsh is suing the district after she alleges Owasso Mid-High School Principal Don Huggins "verbally abused" her daughter, who attends the school. 

Marsh's daughter was born with mild cerebral palsy that affects her right side. 

According to court documents, Principal Huggins referred to the student and a friend as "cripples." Marsh filed a formal complaint against the district which agreed to take "appropriate action" against the employee, court documents state.  

The suit, filed in December, was moved to federal court Monday.
