TULSA, Okla. - Union Public Schools had formal dedication of its newest school on Monday at 10 a.m.
Ellen Ochoa Elementary School opened its doors on August 2017 with about 500 students. It was named in honor of Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic female astronaut to fly to space.
Dr. Ochoa is the featured guest and speaker at the formal dedication on Monday. She currently serves as NASA's Johnson Space Center director.
The school is located on 31st Street and South 120th East Place.
