TULSA, OK (KJRH) — An elderly woman's south Tulsa home has been vandalized over and over as she recovers in an assisted living center. Her son and neighbors are coming together to try to find who's responsible.

Neighbors say they've seen teenagers hanging around the property and throwing things around. The victim's son Larry has filed a police report, and Tulsa Police say neighbors could lead them to identify who is responsible.

Larry says the house has been burglarized, with a door kicked in and belongings ransacked. A playhouse Larry and his father-in-law built 35 years ago is left with broken windows, torn up cabinets, and what's left of someone defecating in the corner.

"In my opinion, they're low," Larry said. "Especially with an older lady like this, who's worked all her life for what she has - to steal it is pretty nasty."

The victim hurt herself working in the yard, and can't be home while she's recovering.

"We call them 'Sunday Funday'," said Larry's neighbor Millicent Kohler, "because that's when it started - on Sunday afternoons they'd all convene."

For now, Larry is putting in cameras, and asking everyone to stay vigilant. Larry says in general, if you see something that seems out of place, "speak up and call 9-1-1". He says you might be preventing something like what's happened to his mother's home.
