The McAlester Police Department confirms a woman who was reported missing was found dead Tuesday at Lake Eufala.

The department issued a Silver Alert for 78-year-old Nellie Wallis on Monday saying she was missing since Saturday and was "under proven medical or physical disability."

Police say her body was discovered near Mud Creek Bridge.

They say her 2008 Chevrolet Impala was found nearby in Bugtussle, Okla. The car matches the one described in the Silver Alert.

Police say they asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to process the car.

A medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Police say they believe she got out of her car and walked into the water.

The department canceled the Silver Alert Tuesday afternoon.
