TULSA -- The defending champ of last year's Scripps Green Country Regional Spelling Bee is hoping to make a huge buzz this year, and take over Nationals in May.

Six-year-old Edith Fuller took home the Regional title last year, knocking out 37 words.

She was then the youngest person in history to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

This year her goal is to get as far as possible in Nationals.

She's been working hard this past year preparing for the Bee.

“I look at study lists and I study computer flash cards and I get quizzed,” said Fuller.

The Scripps Green Country Regional Spelling Bee is this Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Tulsa Tech Center in Owasso.

The winner goes to Washington D.C. to represent Eastern Oklahoma in the National Spelling Bee in May.
