TULSA, Okla. — An Edison High School senior finished her first marathon on Sunday morning after training for 19 weeks.

She was looking forward to racing in the annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, but along with many other sporting events and races, it was canceled.

Sarah Gehres decided she was still going to accomplish her goal and set on her route early Sunday. She started running at 7 in Brookside and finished at RunnersWorld Tulsa before noon.

The high school senior completed the marathon in four hours and 37 minutes.

Way to go Sarah!
