East Tulsa Trash Cleanup

TULSA, Okla — The youth group from the Eastland Baptist Church has taken on the task of cleaning up East Tulsa as a way to fund their summer mission trip to Peru.

While in Peru, the youth group will serve in multiple ways like organizing youth leadership training, sports tournaments, work in the community, helping with children's programs, and community outreach programs.

The students not only want to make a difference in Peru, but also want to make an impact in their own community.

More than fifty business and numerous individuals came together today to sponsor the Community Trash Cleanup event.

Thirty teenagers from the youth group, along with family members, picked up trash along thirty-two miles of main city streets in East Tulsa.

The area of cleanup included:

129th (11th to 51st), Garnett (11th to 51st), Mingo (21st to 51st), Memorial (11th to 51st), 11th (129th to Sheridan), 21st (129th to Sheridan), 31st (129th to Sheridan), 41st (129th to Sheridan), 51st (129th to Sheridan)
