TULSA – A driver is in custody after leading Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers on a chase through Tulsa.

Troopers say Michael Mikus initiated the chase that started near 11th and Delaware and snaked through downtown and onto the Broken Arrow Expressway.

After heading eastbound on Interstate 44 troopers called off the chase because of Mikus' recklessness.

The driver continued to Catoosa and then looped back around heading west, eventually crashing into a ditch at 161st East Avenue.

Troopers were able to locate the vehicle and transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment.

OHP says the driver will be taken to jail following treatment; it’s possible the driver may have arrest warrants.
