TULSA - Police are looking for the driver of a stolen truck that crashed into an east Tulsa pawn shop Wednesday morning during a robbery attempt.
The suspect was not able to enter Green Country Arms & Pawn near 31st and Mingo despite damaging the security gate and shattering the glass door.
Surveillance video from the store's camera showed the truck crashing into the store, the suspect getting out of the vehicle and attempting to get inside.
“Clearly we saw somebody who didn’t have their thinking caps on trying to break in to the shop. Trying to drive through a security gate like that is insane,” said Charles Taylor, owner of Green Country Arms & Pawn.
The suspect was then seen running from the store, leaving the truck behind.
“We just thank God that they didn’t get in, and they didn’t get our inventory,” said Mary Taylor, owner of the store.
Taylor estimates it will take a few days before they can open up for business again.
