MAYES COUNTY — Crews are on the scene of a train versus vehicle crash in Chouteau Friday morning.
Mayes County Sheriff's Office says it received a call around 5 a.m. reporting a vehicle versus train accident near Highway 412 and South 430 Road.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) says a woman was driving an SUV going eastbound on Highway 412, then hit the guardrail and continued onto the center median.
Her SUV landed on the track, hitting the train below.
Officials with the Department of Public Safety say the woman was ejected at some point; however, they do not know if it was before or after.
The woman was life-flighted to a hospital.
OHP says it is unknown why she lost control of her SUV.
The investigation is ongoing.
