TULSA, Okla. — Real IDs are now being issued in Tulsa.

The Department of Public Safety began rolling out the new IDs this week at the Tulsa Eastgate location at 14002 East 21st Street.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Department of Homeland Security pushed back the deadline for REAL ID from Oct. 1, 2020 to Oct. 1, 2021.

Officials said eight tag agencies in Tulsa will also begin issuing the IDs this week. DPS did not specify which eight tag agencies in their official press release. However, they did say they will expand into Broken Arrow and Tulsa West next week.

There's also a checklist of the documents you need to obtain a REAL ID, including:

  • proof of identity (passport or certified birth certificate)
  • proof of social security (social security card or W2)
  • and two proofs of residency (mortgage or lease agreement or utility bill)
