Despite already having a reduced number of staff, the Department of Public safety says it’s considering altering how many troopers and staff are at hand.
The Department of Public Safety sent out a statement Wednesday explaining that the agency is considering the idea of furloughing state troopers and DPS employees across the state after losing several million dollars in budget cuts from the last two years.
DPS went on to point out that this decision could affect the number of troopers available.
The possibility of having 23 furlough days, says DPS, would affect both Troopers and civilian employees.
