Dozens of volunteers placed Christmas wreaths on veterans' graves at Floral Haven today.
It was part of "Wreaths Across America", a national campaign to pay tribute to those who have fought for our country.
A tradition that started at Arlington National Cemetery has spread across the nation, including in Broken Arrow.
"We had 858 wreaths this year that we received donations for, and within 11 minutes, all of the wreaths had been placed on veterans' graves," said Greg Sturge from the Civil Air Patrol.
Sturge said he would like to see more people donate to the movement in order to cover more than 3,800 graves at Floral Haven in the future.
"You know these service people, they fought in the heat, in the cold, in the snow, in the rain, and this is a small price that I can do in their honor," said Valerie Judkins, a first-time volunteer.
